I recently purchased a laptop from a friend and the serial on the laptop is said to have expired the 3 year warranty 2009-2012. But the thing is that the Lenovo model and serial sticker looks legit and the processor is of last year. So was the laptop serial flashed? Or should I call Lenovo and ask for the serial through the serial motherboard?

Could it be that older X1 also has the same cover on the bottom and it has been exchanged somehow?

Have you checked the serial in the BIOS screen?
