Trying to buy a dual-core X100e (L365 if possible) for my wife but it's still more expensive than it was 2-3 weeks ago after coupons...

...this BF is literally worthless on Lenovo.com, nothing different than any of their promos that comes on and off year-round.

Coupon stacking never works and current coupons are only good for 10%... well if you can tell me a better way to get an L335 or L365 X100 w/ 15% or more off then pls, don't hesitate. :)

Otherwise go gently caress yourself, Lenovo, I'll never pay $600 for a netbook and a warranty.

It's nearly impossible to sell the x100e for a ridiculously small amount. At a certain point they're going to lose money on it.

I'm assuming this is the deal you're talking about: Lenovo - ThinkPad laptops - Great Gifts for under $700!

Great deal if you want all of the extra goodies it comes with.

You could always try and sweet talk your way into a better deal on the phone. I know it has worked for some people. 866-968-4465

I picked up an x100e on the Lenovo Outlet for about $230. Keep checking there, although it's probably going to be a lot more difficult to catch the deals during the holiday times.

For some reason, they seem to raise the price on their outlet store right before black friday. I was planning to get a decent laptop for $500, but disappear when I saw decide I could get a refurbish for cheaper.

Because lot of people have saved up their money for the bf sale.

Lenovo probably hopes that these cashed up bargain seekers would jump on these outlet machines even if they are slightly more expensive. For shopping at outlet the best time is usually right after the holiday season, for one thing lot of people have spent their money (so decreased demand for sale bargains) and there is more chance that machines are returned and put on sale in the outlet. So avoid these holiday rushes.

Yeah, I've gotten the same impression. There are really good deals throughout the year, when you won't competing with so many other people for the same thing. There are equally good deals (or even, sometimes, better) actually any time - there just isn't this much hype or advertising so they come by unnoticed. Last time I checked Lenovo Outlet, I found a whole bunch of X100 laptops for $300. If you really want to save money, I'd keep checking there.

This is like the closing down sale that never ends.... another thing, the discount applied on the Lenovo outlet also depends on how much excess stock they carry for each machine. The larger no. of stocks the greater the discounts (well that is my observation).

From what I could tell, it seemed more like airline pricing: completely random and chaotic.

Air ticket pricing may seem random, but it is actually not. It is seasonal and changes according to supply and demand of seats, what competitors are doing and pricing of fuel (even though fuel price is hedged). There is definite trends in pricing of plane tickets, but most of us don't need that many tickets to really care.

Yep, that's what I am doing... it's an older architecture anyway - fastest 18W Turion X2 Neo L625 is 1.6GHz 1MB on 65nm w/ HD3200 from mid-2009 vs current-gen 15W Turion II Neo K665 is 1.7GHz 2MB on 45nm w/ HD4200 from May 2010 - so either we see a competing new model from someone else for the same price or Lenovo will drop the price to clear its inventory before it's too late...

...did I mention their (AMD) first APU (CPU+GPU) Fusion chip is shipping now? ;)
