Has anyone had any experience and know how long I should expect the 3-cell battery to last on a full charge?

I'm not doing anything graphics or CPU intensive, just basic email checking and surfing the web, some light web-page design.

Lenovo quotes it as being 3.6 hours.

Just as a site note; I read a while ago the x100e and x120e 3 cell batteries are different as the latter one has more capacity. Something to keep in mind as that could really screw up battery life if you were to buy the older x100e 3 cell battery.

    Ah, I had no idea, but it seems you're right! X100e 3-cell: 22Wh; X120e 3-cell: 32Wh ( not 40Wh as initially reported).

The X120e and X100e 6-cell batteries are the same, though, I believe.

    Thank you!

I have been averaging around the 3 hour mark so far, and it's still gradually increasing with every charge I put I through, so hopefully it creeps up to that figure eventually.

I get about 2.5-3 hours on mine, though that usually includes video playback.

    Mine too.
I tried to order a second one 3 -cell through Lenovo but not lack. They offered only a 6 cell. My Laptop came with a 3 cell battery with part number FRU 42T4841 . Lenovo sales claims that this is invalid number. In spite that their part department confirmed that number is correct. After several phone calls and asking to speak with a Manager I was told that there is a another 3 cell compatible battery FRU 42T4854 but it will take 2 to 3 months to be in stock. I wondered if anyone had a similar experience and if found a solution.

Lenovo does not ship the X120e with the 3-cell battery anymore, so any 3-cells are the same ones that were offered for the X100e. I wouldn't be surprised to find them in short supply. An alternative is to see if any third party offers 3-cell batteries for the X120e/X100e.
