    Hi,

The x120e appear to be gone from the site. I would like to think it's from the E-450s becoming available, but it seems but they weren't supposed to be available until the 3rd quarter.

The E-350s are appear to be out of stock from Newegg.com as well.

    Hear anything?

    This doesn't look too good...

    Lenovo Sales rep:
I was on there the other day looking at it and there was a 1 month delay before shipping. Looks like they couldn't keep up with the demand.

I should add; It said the screen was what causing the laptop to be delayed 4+ weeks when I was on there a couple of days ago. Seems really odd that they can't get enough screens from their supplier.

You can still get new ones from Ebay and like sites if you really need it/want it. Or dare I say the HP Dm1z.....

Maybe they're about to refresh with X121e's?

Maybe AMD decided to change the launch date of the E-450s without telling us. I know they rearranged some launches of server and desktop stuff at least. *hopes*

If you really need an X120e, there are always resellers and ebay.

I also find it really odd the screen is causing the delay. Is there something remarkably special about the X120e screen? It seems every other 11.6 laptop isn't having supply problems with the screen. I would still place my money on the APU as why it has been removed despite the reason it was delayed before being taken off being the screen.

This is also utter speculation, but: I wonder if the X1 sales are light and they are seeing cross-competition.

[Personally, I hate to knock it, but the X1 has nothing I want. It's slow and expensive, and it has a glossy screen.]

It's matte.... That's about it. The roadmap shows the the x120e is to be around until the beginning of the 4th quarter. Didn't show what will replace it though.

There is a ThinkPad Edge E125 coming out so maybe there will be an X-series based on that one just as with the ThinkPad Edge 11 and x120e...

I don't think the Edge 11 is for the markets that don't get the X120e, or otherwise it would be VERY redundant to have two 11.6in machines with what looks to be the same specs and a similar look.

This has only been out a few months and already there is an update? I'll be surprised if the update is released so soon. I would like an update to this with a better screen, faster processor and SATA III capability.

Word is the X120e was selling like hotcakes and they simply ran out of supplies needed to build them. Whether that's the processor or screen supplier that can't provide enough goods, not sure. I heard that they'll either be back at the end of July but more likely a newer version will come out, the X121e I would guess.

I believe AMD announced they were sold out of the current generation Fusion APU's. Also with those prices, I'm surprised they lasted so long.

I wish other manufacturers would take a hint from this.

    PEOPLE WANT MATTE SCREENS.

I could be wrong honestly.. but, that seems like one really good reason the x120e is selling more than the HP Dm1z or Asus 1215B (Asus is a generally loved pc company among enthusiast too..)

Both of which are right in the 11-12" form factor, both have E350, both have 6+ hours of battery life.

And both are within 50$ of price from the x120e.

The only difference I can notice is the x120 is a matte screen.

It could just be a coincidence but, I have noticed how its almost impossible to find a non-glossy screen these days..

Either way.. I was hoping I could get an x1203 for the 23rd.. guess that is out now Q.Q

Its probably out of lenovo's hands but, I really wish they would hurry up and get more in stock.

I actually prefer a matt screen to a glossy one.

and to my knowledge the only non glossy screen is on the x120 when it comes to under 12" and AMD E350 Fusion APU...

sadly it looks like I may have to pay for extra ram and bluetooth if I want an x120e and order it from a 3rd party site..

Oh well.. I still may try for it...

well for 500$ I found 4 gigs of ram on the x120e..

The fact that it comes with bluetooth helps.. but, if I was smart I would have got the x120 for like 400 and paid 20$ and upgraded the ram myself skipping over bluetooth.

Then again I say that but, I also would have to wait for 4 weeks for sure.

Is it really being replaced with an x121/x125 or is this just a parts shortage?

I keep seeing them pop up briefly in 3rd party places like amazon and such.

So it makes it kind of hard to say.

At this time, it looks like parts shortage ("temporarily unavailable"). It's also what makes the most sense.

IMO is not actually part shortage. just the AMD kinda stop the supply for E350 and will supply the next gen. could be the leftover production that avail in the market now. not sure.

This is simply a supply shortage. No need to add unnecessary speculation to it at all, unless you work in the industry and you're very close to Lenovo's internal affairs. There were articles everywhere showing that AMD were sold out of Fusion parts due to overwhelming demand. Overwhelming demand + limited supply = parts shortage. It was bound to happen that Lenovo would temporary suspend new x120e sales because of it.

Besides, both the E350 and X120e got pretty good reviews and are rather new. I'm actually considering to get rid of my eee pc and get a nice matte screen X120.

Why is it temporarily unavailable if they ran out of E-350's. They could simply disable the E-350 option and leave the E-240 option. Or did they run out of E-240's as well. The E-240 didn't seem that popular...

Yep, it's the screens alright. I got my replacement X120e after my original machine was DOA. Whoever is waiting for a replacement should get it soon as lenovo is still shipping them out, just not taking orders for them yet until they can reasonably keep up with demand.
