    Hi,

I just purchased a new Thinkpad X121e and I've noticed that the "Relocated Event Count" in the SMART data is showing a value of 6! Is this normal for a brand new Segate disk. The disk is a ST320LT020. Does anyone else have an X121e they can chek this on, I used HDTune and the info is under the Health tab.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

Have you tried running the included PC Doctor through ThinkVantage?

See this entry. I would run a chkdsk /f task to see if there are bad sectors and recover if necessary, although if nothing's found, I wouldn't worry about it. Check the SMART data every once in a while, and if it remains at 6, it'll be fine.
