X200 - Have any shipped yet?

I ordered on 8/5. Curious to know if anyone has received notice that their x200 has shipped.

 

I haven't seen anyone say they got theirs yet. I'm hoping when people do they will put up some user opinions.

Same with the U330 and S10

 

Nope, not yet. I ordered on 8/5 too, but they messed up my credit card order and they still haven't give a go on my credit card. It was supposed to ship on 8/21, but I doubt it will ship on that day.

 

i talked to my rep today. he said it should be sent out by the end of next week. i originally ordered 8/5 and they also messed up my credit card transaction.

 

Shopblt.com just got the X200 74542GU TopSeller stock in and currently has 2 available with an additional 24 coming in the next week and 27 more coming the following week. I will post if mine ships tomorrow - so far my card has not been charged.

 

When did you mess up on your credit card transaction? I think I should be able to settle this issue by tomorrow.

Does your order status still say 'in process?'

 

ordered mine by phone 8/5, original ship date 8/19, but today it says 9/1... that's way past my start of school. Not good.

 

i think they fixed it as of yesterday. the charge is "pending" on my cc. the order status still says "in process". i think the cc issue stems from me ordering the lappy online with the free 128 ssd, then having it corrected by my rep, then having him apply the credit for a free 200 gb hdd. i just want it asap. my desktop is a pig at this point.

 

American express called a half hour ago to confirm the charge on my card from bottom line telecommunications (shopblt.com) Given that I was already preauthorized, I expect it to ship tomorrow. Too bad I'm leaving for Thailand on Saturday - it will be a while before I get to use it.

 

You cannot go to Thailand.

It would sort of be a shame if you got your X200 before everyone else who ordered at the beginning of the month though...

 

Mine is still in progress and has an est. ship date of 8/25 (it was pushed back a couple times). A rep. told me last week that it might be pushed back again though due to the 128g SSD error (if you ordered during that). I did not get bluetooth but I ordered with the 9cell.

 

9 cell might be an issue coming up for you...at least it was for me and the T400, i ended up making them change mine to a 6 cell because i need it in august. They were trying to tell me it wouldnt ship til end of september with a 9 cell! not sure if it would be the same for the x200 or not.

 

oi... that's not good. I need the laptop in August too, not sure if I should switch down to 6 cell and then get another 9 cell?

 

I would call and specifically ask regarding your order. I have not heard any indication of that being an issue for the x200 though. I might just be a supply issue specifically for the t series laptops.

 

that could be...im just going to get a 9 cell later if i need it. you should call lenovo and they shud be able to tell u for sure if yours will be affected. the online order status doesnt tell jack ****. my ship date on the internet never changed even though lenovo told me an end of september ship date over the phone.

 

Still no update on my order yet. It looks like Lenovo is going to use every bit of 48 hours to determine whether my credit card information is okay this time.

Did anybody hear about / or have purchased an extended warranty on X200? I think I will purchase 3-year basic warranty but no info whatsoever.

 

I just spoke to Lenovo. Even though my online order still says the ship date is 8/21, the guy on the phone said the estimated ship date is 8/28...and that it is only an estimate and not a firm date. FWIW, I ordered the better processor, 1 stick of 2gb RAM, the 64gb SSD and the standard battery.

 

I just got off the phone and the rep told me it is showing up at the 15th of sept. He said he would check with the supplier and get back to me to confirm. I asked if it had to do with any specific component but he said it was all x200...This sucks

 

strange, my rep said it'll ship "any time next week 8/25-8/29, and somewhat likely this week." I ordered 8/5.

 

I'll let you know what my rep says after he hears from the suppler to confirm the ship date he had in the system. I certainly hope it is sooner before later!

 

I think that they finally processed my order. It still says 'in process' but the estimated date changed for the first time to 9/3 (I have 2 day shipping).

^ Does this mean that my credit card has gone through? I was out all day so I couldn't call Lenovo. I'll call them tomorrow.

BTW, I got $440 Costco Card for my previous laptop trade-in

 

Lenovo said it could ship out on the week of 9/12... am I supposed to wait that long?

Finally got my tracking #!!! It shipped yesterday, and is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday the 26th. I am so pissed I won't be in town to get it, but it will be a nice present to have when I get back home!!!

 

Wow, sounds like topsellers is the way to go if you want to get it shipped faster...

How can Lenovo not ship machines before other outlets do? Do TopSellers take higher priority than the actual Lenovo distribution?

I wonder why they can't offer the same preconfigured models as the TopSellers and sell those on their site as well?

 

Ordered on 8/12, est. ship date 8/26. The accessories (TrackPoint collection) have been delivered yesterday. They were shipped from China a week ago. My PayPal account was charged regularly for the accessories.

I had it shipped directly to my college so the earliest I'd see it is 8/31, though I doubt it'll be there by then.

Bollocks. My ship date has now moved to 9/4. Really really irritated.

 

Well, I called this morning and complained that my ship date had been moved back. Basically told them I was disappointed and needed the x200 for travel. The CSR said he'd try to get my order expedited.

Just received an email that part/all of my order has shipped, and the order status screen at Lenovo is showing "shipped." I have no idea if that is the full order or just a portion (such as the Ultrabase). And I was surprised to see that it is shipping UPS ground...considering the CSR's promise to expedite, I would have figured that 2 day air was appropriate. (Although, I know I should just be happy that *something* is shipping.)

My big fear is that given how fast the result was, and that it is the middle of the night in China, that I'm not getting my configured x200, but a TopSeller. That would be a big problem since I am due to get the free SSD.

I sympayhize with you, gopherblue. That sounds like a nasty situation. I just received notice that my main order (the laptop itself) shipped, but it's four days ahead of schedule (8/26) and I'm wondering, like you, what that really means. Should try and call but I'm out of the country.

 

Good to hear that units are sort of getting shipped...my status still says 8/25 and I have the free SSD lined up. I hope that doesn't affect when I receive my order ...

well, gee, if yours are going to ship soon, I'm very impressed! I didn't even bother to order, just assuming it would take MONTHS, and I'd just get mad about it, so I'd let the rest of you deal with the stresses of a new launch... but... i guess I was wrong! I hope you all get your laptops soon!

 

So my experience with Lenovo has finally gotten to the point where I really don't like that I am ordering a laptop from them.

I have been trying to figure out if my ship date is going to be pushed back, etc. The mention of tracking #'s was very nice to hear. But I find out today that my order is in the credit card verification processing STILL. I have been calling off and on for the past few weeks to see if the order will be delayed more. I tell the representative that there has been absolutely no mention of the credit card issue in the prior conversations I have had and it would have been really nice if they told me this so I could call my CC company earlier.

So I do call Amex today just after speaking to Lenovo and hearing this. They tell me that there has been no activity what so ever to even be an issue on their end. So great...Lenovo is just feeding me crap. I go to call them back and am on hold while the rep looks into the CC verification. When he comes back the phone connection screws up and he can't hear me ...and then I can't hear him. This is all at the wonderful time of 2:00pm (PST) on a Sunday; they close at 5pm est. GREAT.

I will now have to try tomorrow and see what the hell is going on with them telling me it is a credit card issue when there is not one...strangesweet I would appreciate to hear anything about your situation as while seeing as you have the SSD from the web issue ordeal.

 

jaredy: I suggest that you make sure your credit card company has both your billing address and an authorized shipping address on file with your account. That should clear up a lot of issues that folks have with credit cards when the shipping/billing addresses dont match. (Dunno if that is your situation, but if so, call your credit card company.) Often, if the addresses are different, it can slow things down (especially on high-value items like electronics).

BTW, my x200 is showing as "out for delivery" by UPS. Will update when I receive it!

And now my school portal sells the computer for 20% less... Should I cancel and re-buy? ;-)

 

No photos--sorry, but my digicam is at home. Just unpacked it. Not as thick as I was expecting. Very light. As I noted on another thread, it has the Samsung SLC SSD.

Pretty geeked.

 

My address (the billing is the same) was fine and lenovo made no attempt to charge my card. They are just pulling my leg.

 

anyone know (or give a estimation) on how big of a diff there is gonna be between x200 and x200s screens ? considering x200s gonna have a "LED" (backlight) screen.

 

Common guys, any photos? Even photos by phones will be OK for me.

Yes, I want to see photos and impressions. Especially compared to other sized laptops to see how big/small the X200 really is.

I would think the X200s screen would be brighter if it has a LED backlight. I doubt there will be any change in resolution. Not sure about viewing angles but I'd expect something similar as other LED backlighted screens.

 

Besides the LED and battery life, isn't X200 better in terms of performance than X200s?

 

x200 should have more horsepower than x200s. I would like to have the horsepower and the "best" screen ,
