    Hello,

I have recently gotten myself my first Thinkpad and am very pleased with its performance so far.
There has been one specific Problem with the screen that has me wondering if it is a malfunction on my particular Notebook or if all X200 screens have this issue.

On Black to white Gradient I am xperiencing extremely visible Banding in the almost black shades of grey. This has been visible especially on Lenovos Worldmap Wallpaper , where about one centimeter form the top The black doesnt niceley fade into lighter and ligher shades of Black but rather abruptly stops and jumps a few shades.
This has alos made a number of darker toned pictures look like they had too little color depth because whenever i have a shade in that specific tone, it looks almost white dotted and there is always a very abrupt jump from black to lighter grey.

I have researched this a bit and found out that this is called banding and can come from various issues or from notebook TFTs, and i would like to make sure if this is a x200 issue or if my notebook has some problems of its own.

I have tried viewing the same gradients on a lot of other screens (Samsung notebooks, HDTVs, mat fujitsu displayds) and non have had this issue

    Thanks a lot in advance

Well the screen on the x200 is not great, especially how it is set up stock. I would say adjust some settings first. Banding is a attribute of low quality panels too.
