But you can't customize it.
And it's not available on Lenovo - Canada -
So I guess it's not $1299.99.... ?
-
It displays an error anyways. The price seems much higher than the $1199 base though... I will be waiting.
-
how much longer do we have to wait till we can customize? 1434 is out of my budget
-
Not only can't you customize it. You can't buy it. Seems more like an error or maybe the update didn't go through completely yet.
Too bad about the price though. The specs look like the base specs but the price is $1,434. Maybe it's the early adopters special price? -
The new T series and W series are up too.
-
Those specs for $1434? Jeez...
-
darn it change lenovo canada change! I've been refreshing since midnight. Ships within 1-2 business days? Let's see.
-
Don't worry too much with the prices like that...
-
what happened to $1,199??
-
Seems all models starts at approximately $300 higher than the prices we saw in the spec sheets.
-
I think it will be $1199 tomorrow. Every indication between press releases, info given to reviewers, and that internal pricing sheet indicate a $1199 price for the base x200 model. Given the small differences over the x61s, it would not make sense to price it so high.
-
I agree every press release on it has shown the base price we have come to expect.

click the one about new generation thinkpads... that doesn't instill hope regarding the prices.
-
It's fully customizable and starts at $1218 on Lenovo's CPP website (lenovo.com/cpp). At least it doesn't look like I missed out on much by buying the Sony SR a couple weeks ago--plus it was much cheaper.
-
It's configurable now.. it looks like $1434 is the base price.
-
Wow, as Engadget reports, the 128GB SSD option is actually $70 less than the base hard-drive right now! That should be ~$1500 extra, considering the 64GB SSD is $900! That's sure going to cause some problems for Lenovo, if they even honor the misprint.
-
Ya I configured with this and did a price quote to lock it in the order system
.

Doesn't show on the spec, but I added turbo memory too.
I already ordered dv4t.. but let's see what happens with 128GB SSD. -
I have a retail Vista Ultimate CD so I just brought down Vista option and saved money.
-
So many errors on Lenovo's pages, it is a total joke.
-
theres no way theyll honour the mistake i reckon, 128 g ssd, theres no way. great my lenovo x200 is gonna be delayed cos of this
-
Yeah, there's fine print at the bottom that states "NOT responsible for typographic errors," so it will never be honored. Phew, for a second there, I thought I had missed out on the deal of the century, but it's just a false alarm.
-
That is normally the case ccutlip. However it makes Lenovo seem completely unprofessional given how long it took to even be able to configure the machines (and see the prices for some).
-
It seems like price problem is there for other models.. (like T9400 more expensive than T9600)
-
I saw someone mention that on engadget. I'm still very curious if the base prices are correct. They are totally off from what we expected...sadly.
-
I think that they priced it incorrectly. They wouldn't have put 64GB SSD as $830+ option.
I think I got a sweet deal with academic discount as well. -
How come the price doesn't start from $1199? I think we should wait till tomorrow, then they'll fix the price!
-
They also list the videocard as ATI 3640 for the T400, but such a card doesn't seem to exist.
Sorry, wrong thread. -
1. How did you get your academic discount?
2. I can't get a warranty with my X200 ?! -
-
Appreciate the help, but the link is broken
[Edited: Never mind - it's a cookies issue] -
Hm. Does anyone know if there's a way for European customers to customise their laptop, akin to how US customers can customise theirs?
-
still waiting for the price to come down to where they said it would be.
-
X200 got taken off from lenovo.com..
-
More web issues...or perhaps they are out of stock of the initial run.
-
-
Online chat sales guy #3 - "x200 will be up by the end of day"
-
The CPP/EPP friends and family site will have the best pricing. Better than lenovo.com and shareholder
-
Actually, I think its because they gave a discount for the 64gb for everyone who got the deal yesterday. Darn. I wanted the x200. >_< -
Still no x200 - I am upset
-
I hope they'll fix the price down to $1,199 like how it was expected to be
-
-
How much off is CPP and shareholder? I got 15% off through EPP
-
CPP is 15%, too.

I finally talked to a fluent English speaking representative and received great customer service. I made changes to specs as well as to accept 64GB Solid State Drive option. He was very nice to change the options right away. I guess they will not add $70 which was originally deducted from choosing 80GB 5400RPM hard drive. So basically, a $830+70 deal for free.
I asked him about the brand of SSD; he couldn't find any information or remember, but he did say that Lenovo only uses 'one' brand of SSD and he said that it's one of the leading brand producing SSD.
I asked if it's Samsung, but he said he doesn't know.
I'm very excited to be a Lenovo user at last.

X200 is back on the US Lenovo site, and still starting @ $1434.......
-
You'd better get a 2 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory in 1 DIMM, so you can add another 2GB later.
Sean -
Thanks Sean for the reply.
I ordered 32 bits Vista Home Basics because I own a full retail version of 32 bits Vista Ultimate. I plan to upgrade it.
Since I do not have a 64 bits CD, I don't think it does not matter much whether it's 1DIMM or 2DIMM.
I was trying to cut the total price under $1600 so I didn't want to get 1 DIMM.
X200 Available!
