My ThinkPad is set so that when the lid closes, the laptop is put to sleep. The problem is that few times when I close the lid (and I believe that it's fully closed), the laptop does not go into Sleep mode; rather it seems to still be on?
But when I open the lid again, the laptop finally goes into Sleep mode, to which I have to manually wake it up via tapping on keys/touching the touchpoint/pressing the Power button.
It might have been that I use the Sleep feature a lot because I put it to Sleep before I go from class to class at school. Anybody have any idea what's going on?

Why don't you just put it into sleep via fn f4 so you can watch it sleep and know it isn't still running.

Right click the Lenovo Power Manager icon in the taskbar (the battery gauge) and hit "Disable Instant Resume" see if that works?
Its a feature meant to keep WLAN active and connected for a certain amount of time, I dont think its supposed to keep the whole laptop awake for that time, but it could be the problem. -
jaredy: Yeah that's what I do now, it's more reliable. But I just like closing the lid or something lol.
Nippero: Wow that certainly looks like it could be the reason. I won't know until tomorrow but this might definitely fix the problem. Can't wait to try it out and play around with the settings at school. Thanks!
