I've got 2 X200s laptops, with similiar config (4GB ram and 320gb HDD). One works well without a hitch. The other has started freezing and beeping when "docked" in it's media base. When on its own, there is no issue at all. This is during post, so you'll get the logo screen but nothing else.

The only thing I could find was a comment made about X200 laptops with more than 2GB may develop a video memory allocation problem, which might contribute to the MB not able to allocate enough memory to the intel GPU when it's connected to an external screen.

Has anyone expirienced such issues? the problematic X200s is running W7 64bit, whilst the other one runs a 32bit OS - can that be a factor??

Possibly. I have had weird freeze up issues when my docked machine idles and then I try to wake it. The screen is blank and the computer has to be powered off by force.

Not the same issue but I imagine it is related to 64bit since the other computer works on the docking station.
