    refer to this Thread.

I just received my x200 today. I found there's a gap on the right side of the lcd and the frame. Does anyone else have this problem? or should I just return it ?

Well, I have a SL500 TP, i too have a gap of around the same width (for which I did open a thread here). I am not returning, coz i might get something even worse like a dead pixel :(

Well, here is the thing. I owned my X200 for a week and until I read the "gap" posting it didn't even occur to me to check for something like that. Sure enough I checked my X200 and what do you know, there is an obvious gap between the LCD and the bezel. Do I mind it? I don't think so because it doesn't affect at all the image and the screen is perfectly aligned with respect to the frame.

One more thing and this is purely a speculation. Maybe the gap is there for the privacy screen accessory. If you notice there are two sets of tabs on the top and bottom of the bezel (again between the bezel and LCD same as the "gap") but none on the sides. Maybe the privacy screen just slides in inside the "gap".

Take a look at the installation manual which shows the side tabs for T400/T500 and the lack of side tabs for X200:

it's not as bad as the first picture. but 2nd and 3rd really show you what we mean by the "gap". I found these pictures online. but the symptoms are shown.

like I said before, that's not my laptop. When I stuck a card inside the gap, it didn't go out of the case. But the idea is there. There's a space between the LCD and the bezel.

The edge thing is nothing new. They got worn out on my T40, although in 5 years they never got much worse than that picture.

But Wow. There is some serious separation in your x200 if you can slide a card like that. I have no issue of that nature, I would definitely get it serviced/replaced.

Ok, I checked and found this "issue" too. I don't think it is of any concern unless it slides THROUGH like the example picture. Mine does NOT.

honestly this gap... i think it exist for everyone (just some is more noticeable).. however i don't think it's something to be alarmed about.. although i understand why people are annoyed about.. (thanks everyone for pointing it out to me ) <-- sarcasm lol

Because from experience... if you really want to fix that gap... place a double sided tape in that area.

I disassembled my Asus laptop before.. and that area was basically held down with double sided tape.

When a Dell engineer come to repaire my dell, he put his finger into the gap to remove the bezel... I'm very suprising, since I even didn't noticed the screen gap before that!!!

Yes, the gap exsits among many brands. Some models use double siede tape to fix it while some others don't.

I've been keeping up with this thread, but I didn't know it was that bad. After looking at the images, I tried with mine, but it says fine. I have "other" problem though.

just a quick update here. I just got my x200 back from their repair center. The gap has been fixed. and it feels very solid on the side. I received the box on thursday; sent it in on Friday and got it back today (monday). I think it's pretty quick.

no, they didn't replace the housing. I am not sure if they glued it or just put a tape inside.
