I just got a X200 with Ultrabase. Great machine! I have on issue though: when plugin the headphones to the Ultrabase audio out jack, I can hear a hiss that sounds. I don't get that when plugin the headphones in the computer's audio out. Does anyboady have an idea how to fix that?

BTW, having followed earlier discussions: it's a bit of a pitty that the Ultrabase doesn't come with its own power adapter, and overall, as great the X200 feels (rock solid hardware), the Ultrabase feels a bit "cheap". It came bundled with the X200 for 1500Euros in Germany, but I'd not be so happy if I had spend 150 or 200 euros for it alone..

Ya the ultrabase feels cheap, but you probably wouldn't be moving it. I need it for the docking capabilities and the digital output. I recall the audio on the base did not sounding very good. I use an external USB DAC so I have not tried "fixing" the hiss, but it might just be a horrible output and you might have sensitive headphones that exacerbate the issue.

Thanks for the answer. I figured today that the hiss has to do with the CPU speed: at full speed, there is a hiss. When I switch to adaptive, no hiss, but when the CPU dynamically reaches full speed.. Well, I may need a USB soundcard that is better than that. Too bad because the output on the X200 itself doesn't have this problem. I'd love to use the docking facility for sound output too ;)
