So after fiddling around with my new X200 over the last few weeks, I am also displeased with the screen quality. It's fine for office applications, but not so great for video. I also thought the default color profile was a little washed out. This won't solve the black artifact problem, but at least we can try for more accurate colors.

I know color settings are subjective, but I was hoping we could contribute to an "NBR X200 Intel Color Correction Profile." We don't have to actually reach a consensus, but I would like to try and see if we can improve the screen a little bit.

For now, I'm just using the Intel software (right click on desktop, graphics properties, color correction). It can get quite complex since RGB parameters can be adjusted individually, but I kept mine simple.

    For all:
    Gamma 1.0
    Brightness -12
    Contrast 47

This is on max brightness. You can save a profile by clicking "scheme options." It's easiest to compare when you apply a new theme, then restore defaults.

I know it isn't perfect yet, but it's a start. Help would be appreciated.
