Can anyone tell me if it is possible to determine from the model and serial number if a given X200 was built to readily accept a wideband card with GPS capability? Do all of the compatible cards include GPS. I'm looking at an unlocked card on ebay, Erickson model F3507g 3G, Lenovo number 43Y6479...will this work without any BIOS problems?

    thanks for any feedback.

I'm not sure I understand your question but my X200 has the built in intel graphics if that is what you are asking. Your link took me to the X200 tablet specs but I hust have the plain vanilla laptop. I seem to remember reading somewhere that if the laptop was configured a certain way then it would have the broadband antenna in place even if it didn't come with a broadband card.

    thanks

I believe all X200 laptops are wired for WWAN/GPS. I'm not sure if the one you're getting from ebay will work or not though. I'm kind of curious about it too. If you do try it, make sure you report back. I have one without the WWAN card and recently discovered the two pre-wired antennas for it.

I have the Ericsson F3507G in my x200 Tablet. To the best of my knowledge every x200 and x200 Tablet (but not x200s) is pre-wired for WWAN. You just need to remove the keyboard, place the card in the empty mini-PCI slot, and attach the antennas.

Make absolutely sure however, that the WWAN card you are picking up is for a ThinkPad. IBM/Lenovo is somewhat notorious for only white-listing a handful of wireless cards (other brands won't work).
