I see that under display setting I can switch between 50hz and 60hz for the refresh rate? Does it make any difference??

Not really but it should be set to 60hz.

Its usually used to remove screen flicker.

    My X200s only does 50hz.

Weird. Maybe it was originally designed for PAL markets or something.

my T400 does both and the Battery Stretch switches it to 50Hz to save power
also can be set from the settings menu for the intel card
