The main thing you want in a USB DVD±RW is for it to be bus powered and slim. This will allow you to take it with you and power it with your laptop on the off chance you need to take it with you. Lenovo sells a variety of these (mostly Targus brand), but they tend to be overpriced ( storefront). I would either pick one up from newegg that looks decent, or just do what I did and put a DVD±RW pulled from a old laptop (it should be a non-ThinkPad because it calls for a normal, rather than slim, height drive) in this $13 enclosure.
You should also look into DVD emulation software as it is a fantastic way to take your discs with you while still leaving them at home ( ImgBurn and Daemon tools are my choices). -
Awsome leather case.. I'd like to see it jon -

. These pictures show a MAXIMUM LOAD for the ThinkPad Leather Ultraportable Case. This includes:
- ThinkPad x200 Tablet
- Java book ≈400 pages
- 65w AC Adapter
- Five Star Flex (cut down to 8.5x11)
- Retractable Ethernet/Phone cord
- Ball Point Pen (twist top)
- Staedtler Lead holder
- Note flags (6 colors)
- Spare TrackPoint Tips/Wacom Nibs
- Notepad (5x7")
- Stamps
- Business Cards
- 2GB µSD card w/ USB adapter
- Wall Street Journal
Pictures:
Full complement laid out on table -
Loaded (middle compartment [x200, AC adapter, Java book, Five Star flex) -
Loaded (front compartment [everything else, except WSJ]) -
Loaded (back w/ WSJ) -
Interior ( laptop only, in neoprene sleeve)
Discreet ThinkPad branding and leather stitching -
That should provide a good overview of the case, its quality, and the surpising amount of stuff it can hold despite its small size.
For the record, I define professional as understated elegance. This frequently employs dark shades (black, navy, brown), clean lines, and general quality. It is NOT bright colors, lots of stickers, gaudy designs, agressive styling, synthetic materials, or cheap plastics/rubbers. -
What is your budget? Lenovo came out with a very nice luxury line by Vaja. You can customize the colors and even engrave your name on it. The messenger bag starts at $650, and the hand carry starts at $550.
