I was wondering, does the X200 (not X200s or X200t) screen brightness dim when running on battery?

I don't mean just the brightness setting but the overall brightness. For example on my T61p when I am running on battery the brightest level seems to be about 50%-75% the brightest level when plugged in. My Dell Latitude D630 does this too.

I read this is done to save battery life and can be changed in the bios.

Is the X200 like that or is the brightness uniform on battery and plugged in?

At least my Thinkpad does not do this. It will decrease the brightness, but if you manually increase it to the max, it will be the same brightness as the maximum on AC power.

The x200 (like most ThinkPads) has an option in the BIOS. If enabled, this option will prevent you from running at full brightness on battery. However, the x200 (and x200s/x200T) is perfectly capable of running at full brightness on battery.
