    Hello, Does anyone know how I could keep my icons where I want them.



    Because I have an external monitor, when I am on the go, the icons get all mixed up.



    Is there a way to have the laptop desktop on the go with a certain set of icons and a home desktop when I'm home with the high res monitor.

    why not extend your desktop to the external monitor so that the icons are still on your laptop screen, while all the software can be dragged to your external screen.
