    Lenovo's website advertises:

    4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory

    CPU-Z reports: DDR2

    Who is correct?

According to the actual ram in my notebook it is DDR3
CPU-Z has been known to read things wrong in the past.

you don't need instructions... both RAM slots are underneath your x200. Just remove that panel that is held by two screws.
