My X200, which was a great machine all-around, is dead. When I turn it on, it starts as it should, but then it suddenly seems to lose power. Here is what happened.
After having the X200 for a few months, my right mouse button started being slightly stuck sometimes and my trackpoint seemed a bit loose. I also noticed a bit of grime underneath the right mouse button.
So I decided to remove the keyboard, as I had seen in several places online. What could possibly go wrong, I thought. I'd put in extra RAM when I got the machine and that was easy enough. So I turned off my laptop, took out the battery, unscrewed the 4 neccessary screws, removed the keyboard easily, unplugged the little cable that runs underneath, cleaned the keyboard, dried it, put it back in, put the screws back in place and turned on my beloved X200...
Dead...
When I turn it on, 3 Lights flash, the one with the Z going through the circle and the arrows with a "1" and a "A" in them. The screen stays pitch black. The fans turn on normally. After a second or two, it seems the entire machine loses power and turns off (the hard drive does that "Hey I just lost power" sound). It then starts itself again and shows the same behaviour until I turn it off.
This happens with or without battery and when plugged in or not. I also removed the HD to see what would happen and nothing changed, except the HD didn't make the sound anymore, for obvious reasons.
Now I have no idea what I could have done wrong, as the whole procedure took about 2 minutes and I took care not to touch any of the systems internals, I didn't drop or spill anything inside and the process didn't seem too complex or finnicky.
I am hoping someone here has an idea, because I'm still holding on to the thought that maybe it's not actually broken and that I just missed something stupid and obvious or screwed it back together the wrong way, because else I'll have to send it in and I could really use a laptop right now.
Anyway, thanks in advance.

Call support.

Good thing its still under warranty...right?
-
Unplug the battery again and hold down the power button for 10s or something. But ya call support.

How did you clean the keyboard? There is a chance you just damaged the keyboard by cleaning it and won't need a complete system overhaul.

I only cleaned underneath the right mouse button, in the front. With rubbing alcohol/water and it wasn't wet or anything.
I guess Lenovo is getting a call from me today and I'll have them fix it, though it would have been at least nice to know what I did to screw this thing up, so I could avoid that in the future.
