    Hi all,

Just got an X200T, no complaints. Have a quick question about the battery life... I've got a 4 cell battery and at full, the task bar is telling me I have ~1:48hrs. Is this normal??? It's kind of low isn't it?

Nothing is running except wireless, and screen at full.

Probably because you're running the screen at full brightness. What wattage is power manager saying?

Yes, running your screen at full brightness will definitely use a lot of battery power. I would also check out Power manager and tweak your power profile to be more battery life efficient.

Ahh, the power manager is saying 11 Watts, and the power is set for Maximum performance.

If this is normal, I suppose I should probably start eying a 9-cell battery?

Change "maximum performance" to "balance", or "power saving".

Maximum performance means that it will use whatever power it needs to achieve "maximum performance". Hence this will use the most battery life, but your CPU will run at full power if you are doing number crunching. I have mine set to power saving on battery for best battery life. But you might want to invest in a 9 cell. It adds about 1/2 lb, but you get insane battery life and might not need to carry a second battery with you.

It is an 8cell with the x200t. Not the same battery as the x200.

Awesome, thanks for the input guys.

It is indeed an 8 cell battery for the x200t.. It was a $42.5 option, should have gotten it.
