We really WISH lenovo would add three new options to the current X200s:
1- Integrated Verizon Wireless Mobile Broadband (3G)
2- Intel WiMAX/WiFi Link 5350
3- Integrated UWB WPAN
-
Can anyone offer any comments or suggestions?
Thanks in advance -
I just wanted the price to drop, WWAN to be available, and maybe even have WiMAX. But the wait was too long for me so I just went with an x200

Tim Supples Says:
David F. & Puppy - At this time, X200s WXGA+ LED backlit models do not support integrated WWAN. As I’m sure you know, I can’t discuss unannounced products. -
Yeah, I wish too. As for why Lenovo still isn't giving us the possibility to order all the options we want, I have several ideas (all pure speculation) :
- Price. The X200s is already rather expensive with minimal options, and Lenovo probably wants to keep the price as low as possible - otherwise it becomes difficult to justify buying the X200s over the X200. See, for example, the fact that Vista Home is now the default OS option to make the base price appear lower.
- Battery life. The launch of the Intel 5350 was delayed partly because it ate way more battery than the 5300 (read that on Anandtech, I think). One of the big selling points of the X200s is its battery life. It might be that installing all these wireless options impacts the battery life negatively, and Lenovo does not want to see its battery life numbers being ridiculed in the first reviews.
- (Less likely) Weight. Maybe adding several mini cards adds 50-100g to the overall weight of the laptop. Again, that would be quite unwelcomed when the first reviews arrive.
- The antennas / the new top rollcage. Currently the X200s with WXGA+ screen is listed with 2x3 antennas, and Lenovo documentation shows that only 1x2 antennas fit when there is a webcam. The X300, for example, can have WWAN, UWB and WiFi, and it comes with 3x3 antennas. Maybe the X200s design does not allow for all the wireless options at the same time - I am not very knowledgeable on this so maybe I am not making any sense. Please correct me if I am wrong. -
There is not doubt in my mind that Lenovo will release an X200s model with integrated camera and wwan options. Maybe it won't be with the WXGA+ option but definitely the wxga option. The reason i say this is because when i checked the following link:

The Lenovo representative is holding a model with those options. Look very closely to the screen around 30 secs into it and right before he starts discussing about the tablet. You will notice that the led indicators had 3 lights on the far left and we all know that one is for Wireless, the other for Bluetooth and the third for WWAN. That model also sports an Integrated Camera.
I have no idea when those models will start appearing but they do exist and it will happen. I'm hoping right after the Anniversary sale they are having. Once they get rid of the X61s. We will have to wait and see.
