Does anybody know what manufacturer makes the X200s LED LCD? Is it 8 bit or 6 bit?

There are no real 8-bit screens for notebooks at this point, it's 6-bit like any other notebook panel.

As to the manufacturer(s), they may use more than just one... you could ask the guy in that thread about his display:

It is a TN panel so we can assume it is 6 bit.

I don't know who the manufacturer is, but considering it is a 12.1" panel with WXGA+ resolution (a bit of a rarity?) I wouldn't doubt that there is only one supplier for Lenovo.

On a related note, the X200t uses IPS displays so we can assume they are all 8-bit.

On a related note, your logic is flawed, the notebook IPS panels are all 6-bit, even the Flexview panels were 6-bit only, contrary to popular belief.

As I said there are no true 8-bit panels for notebooks. (There are some 17" screens that were advertized as 8-bit, but they aren't available yet so that remains to be seen.)
