Thank you so much for the informative post. Which test suite did you use so that I can try to produce some numbers as well?

Just as an update on battery life with WiFi on, when writing my previous post I had not thought of customizing the Intel 5100 driver settings. I discovered this morning that they were set to maximum performance. Setting them to maximum battery life gave a significant improvement.

Also, even if I originally wanted the SU9300, in the end I'm glad I got the SL9400. This CPU is surprisingly powerful. It runs OS X in VMWare with very little lag, which is impressive considering the lack of a video driver.

    Passmark Performance Test.

I used the 64 bit version (I have Vista x64), and I assume that owl1979 used the 32 bit version (he was running XP).

You should run it without any background tasks and in both max performance and max battery mode if possible.

Thank you again. I will try that and also try running the 3DMark05 test suite - there was a new review on 12/4/2008 on an x200s with a 9-cell and the SL9400 1.83Ghz processor.
