    Hi all
I'm about the purchase an X200s and have a question about the screen choice. The Canadian Lenovo website offers 2 screens: WXGA and WXGA+ [$0.00].
I have read other posts that complain that XGA+ is too small for reading on a 12" screen. However if you increase the dpi from the 96 default to say 120dpi will it be ok? Will you have other problems by doing this?
Btw, why is the higher res screen a no-cost upgrade? Typo?

Will the construction of the lid be the same (eg carbon/glass fibre with roll cage) regardless of the screen you pick?
Also, I read that this model will be updated soon. Are any important changes coming that i should delay my purchase?

Looking forward to comments from X200s owners.
    Thanks

changes are always coming, regardless of when you buy the laptop, but the question is whether buying X200s will fulfill your foreseeable computing needs till the next time you buy a laptop (can you specify what you are going to use the laptop for)?

The change would most likely be the inclusion of the eSATA, displayport and possibly a fourth usb slot on the laptop, while the CPU and GPU is getting an upgrade too....

    Thanks for both replies.

I will be using the laptop mainly for the usual office tasks and running statistical software. This will be my more portable comp (I have a bigger laptop). I will also be getting the dock so I don't care about the additional ports in the design update. I am also fine with the current 1.83GHz chip.

The big issue I have left now is choosing between SXGA and SXGA+
I want the XGA+ because I read it has better contrast and is brighter. However, I'm afraid it'll be too high resolution for a 12". If I find the text too small will increasing the DPI to say 120 not cause any other problems? The SXGA+ is the superior monitor and I'm thinking you can't have too high a resolution if you can adjust the text size. Can you please advise me on this?

I use WXGA+ at it's native 1440x900 and default 96 DPI everyday for hours. I have no problem with it. For fun, I've switched to WXGA (and ignored the non-native image quality), to try and simulate the alternative: I didn't feel any more comfortable. It's subjective - if you're unsure, go experience it yourself.

There are some minor differences to the lid internals - for example, you can't fit the WXGA's integrated webcam into the WXGA+'s lid.
