Haven't seen anyone post a thread for X200s shipment tracking.
Since X200s has been officially released for one week.
Now it is good time to start collecting shipping info.
Please share your order shipping info in this thread.
Also open for any thinkpad/x200s related discussions.

I just placed my order on Provantage today 09/30. It is X200s 74663HU
I will post here if I get any update from provantage.
I know there are ppl who placed their orders a week ago either from lenovo.com or provantage. You are welcome to share some updates here
Thank you
Kevin

I placed an order through lenovo.com on Sept 24. Estimated ship date is Oct 8. Shipping is 2-business-days. So, hopefully, it really does ship on that Wednesday and arrives on Friday the 10th. I might be jinxing myself.
The machine is an X200s with the ulv processor, SSD, and 6-cell battery. I hope this thing draws very little power! -
I am worry about the battery performance under Vista. -
I don't expect to have stellar battery performance at first either... though I'm confident I will tune things well with a little time.
The reports of Vista being a bit more of a power drain... is that probably because of the more CPU+GPU intensive interface? There are options for less-snazzy appearance in Vista aren't there? -
I bought a Sony external portable DVD and have seagate 7200.3 320G in its OEM box.
I am gonna try Vista first see how it goes. I read through other forums that some x200 owners complain about system crash on wake up from sleep and hibernate under vista. Since I seldom turn off the laptop, I usually just close the lid and leave it sleep. I really hope that vista wont fail me. Otherwise I will just stick with winxp.
either way, I will try to have ubuntu dual boot. -
Just got a phone call from provantage verifiying me because of the > $1000 order.
My order was released today. I guess it was just sent to lenovo. -
It's been two weeks since I order from provantage and I still haven't heard anything from them yet.
This is frustrating, Lenovo should really make stuff available the moment they announce the laptop, not taking half a month or more to fulfill orders -
It has been 2 weeks after x200s posted on lenovo website.
Anyone got updated shipping information?
I ordered mine last Monday. And still nothing new here.
"release" just means that they have verified my payment. Order request sent to lenovo, which means nothing.... sigh -
I ordered on 9/30 estimated ship date 10/14. x200t direct from lenovo. order status: in process.
-
My status is unchanged... still have the 8th as my estimated ship date. I'm hoping that when I check it in two days (or less) it will say shipped. So far, I've seen no evidence of an X200s being shipped (though I haven't seen a ship date earlier than the 8th either)... so I'm crossing my fingers that there are no problems to delay it.
I'll post here to update my status when the time comes.
-
Well, it is now the 8th, any word?? -
So far... no change. If the my order status page doesn't update by tomorrow I'll give them a call to see what's up.
I still haven't seen any reviews (actual review with a machine, by a non-Lenovo person), which makes me wonder if the machine exists in mass-produced form yet! -
Usually you won't receive your laptop without any tracking info posted. -
Ordered three X200's on 9/29 and they were all received today, 10/8.
Ordered an X200s yesterday 10/7 and it is expected to ship out on 10/21, but experience tells me it will go out on 10/15. -

nevermind, found the answer
-
Update: My order status on the website of course auto-bumped by another two weeks once the estimated date was passed. I just called now and was informed that it should be shipping this week. So, hopefully they really are roughly within their estimated time, with no serious delays.
-
Today is Thursday, do they really mean the shipping is this week? Or within 7 days? -
Provantage currently has 42 in stock if you guys want to order. They'll probably ship fast too:
http://www.provantage.com/lenovo-74663hu~7LENO0XX.htm -
I didn't probe further about the delay, since I'm satisfied if they are shipping soon -- it is a new product, and I'm not surprised at taking a little longer than they'd hope. If it doesn't look like it's shipped by Monday I'll be a bit more inquisitive.
At least it's encouraging seeing that Provantage has some units! -
http://www.pcsuperstore.com/products/T35290-IBM-74663HU.html -
They have 56 in stock and just don't ship mine to me. sigh. -
That is $60 cheaper than Provantage taking shipping cost into account.
Really tempting to cancel my provantage order. -
-
They said that they have a Fedex tracking number for my order but the tracking infor on fedex is not available yet. They said my order should be shipped in 2,3 business days.
The laptop is shipped from Chicago. I am in Indiana. So hopefully I will get my hands on this bad boy in the middle of next week.
I guess we can expect massive delivery of X200s within the next couple days. -
-
Update!
My X200s is shipped. According to Fedex, it will be delivered on Saturday Oct, 11th. I doubt Fedex will deliver on Saturday, we will see. Anyway it will arrive no later than Monday.
I placed my order on Oct 1st from Provantage. So it takes 10 days for it to be shipped. Not too bad. -
Argh.
I'm gonna regret ordering right away from lenovodirect, aren't I? Oh well, I want the wimpy ULV processor and SSD, so I guess I'm stuck anyway.
Congrats on the confirmed shipment, xchric! I'm guessing anyone who orders now (from Provantage) might have it ship within a day. You effectively had a pre-order, since they listed before they had stock? -

Are the Provantage screens WXGA+ like the Lenovo Direct ones?
-
Now the shipment date changed to Monday Oct, 14th. Apparently provantage didn't pay for Saturday shipment.
Yours should arrive pretty soon. -
For now the only available option is WXGA+.
I think what they show on the title is wrong. According to the tabook, 74663HU comes with WXGA+ screen. They don't really care about the production description. They order the laptop according to the manufacture part number. -
My X200s shipped today by Fedex from Provantage.
I didn't expect the shipment since they changed the delivery date to Monday.
It comes with Win xp pro pre installed
But there is also a Vista SP1 recovery DVD set for you using the COA at the back of the machine.
I am creating the backup disks for winxp and will try to have Vista SP1 install.
Here is a few pics

Wow, xchric, I think you are the first person in the world to own the X200s... those are by far the best images of the X200s on the internet.
Seven questions:
1. how is the quality of the LED screen ?
2. Regarding the following image:
It seems that the left part of the notebook's back hangs on air (because of the battery bump), does the laptop stays stable when you type on the left part of the keyboard ? (keys like "F1" or "Esc" or "Tab").
3. Is the 7200rpm hard drive somewhat noisy ? (on seek or idle).
4. Does the laptop really weight only 1.23KG ?
5. Does it have the Thinklight feature at the top of the screen ? (the LED light that illuminates the keyboard in the dark).
6. Does the keyboard has some level of flex in some areas ?
7. How is the internal speaker ? -
Wow, that thing looks tiny and awesome! Wish I woulda had the money for a x200 (let alone a S model..)
-
1, The LED back light is great! You don't need the max level. I reduce it to 2 bars down from full. View angle is not superb. But I am the only one user most of the time so that doesn't bother me.
2, ya, what you see was also my concern while I first noticed this uneven design. But it turns out that the laptop is pretty stable. I don't have any trouble using Esc or F1 buttons. I didn't even notice while I hitted F1 key repeatedly in order to enter the bios setup screen.
I took that picture on purpose to show you guys how the 6 cell battery fit on X200s.
3, I immediately installed my Seagate 7200.3 320G harddrive. It is **** quite. You won't hear any noise unless you are in an extreme quite environment. This harddrive scores 5.8 in the Windoes Experience Index.
4, My weight is broken. I cant give you the exact number. But I can tell you that its weight feels almost the same as my camera. The lens of my camera is around 970g. The camera body is Canon 40D, Which should be added up close to 1.20kg.
5, Yes, it has the thinklight.
6, So far I dont have any complaints for the keyboard of X200s. I sometimes feel like keying in on my old T40 without looking at the screen. Full size keyboard really makes the difference.
7, For the internal speaker, I usually don't expect too much for a thinkpad. It is at the average level as far as I can tell. I played some MTVs on youtube. i can only say that it is better than my old T40. -
WOW! The first documented X200s delivery!
I know a lot of people would like to see a picture of the screen resolution, so if you have an itchy trigger finger with your new camera, feel free to post
The main question that I have is what is the reported battery life with the Lenovo power manager software and what is the *actual* battery life in real-world usage.
Congrats - looks like a beautiful machine! -
The reported battery life under Vista on a 6 cell battery is 5:42 depends on your power management. I dont have a chance to test the actually battery life yet. Will report as soon as I get the test result.
I dont have any viewing trouble. I am used to my old T40 1400x1050 resolution.
So I dont see a big difference during the migration. -
Lucky bugger!
It's great to see someone get one though. Very nicely done pics, too.
With how thin the machine is, that extra loft from the 6-cell really does stand out. At first I was also wondering if it might be a bit unstable... but then realized I'm almost never at a table with a laptop so it's rarely going to be on a flat surface. Good to hear it's stable anyway.
Did you throw yourself a birthday party or what? New computer, new camera, ...Have fun with the toys!

x200 is so ibm thinkpad. like their line has never been changed.

For anyone inspired by these X200s pictures, you might want to take advantage of this quite good deal this weekend:
X200s Topseller 74663HU (24 in stock)
LINK
$1480.99
+ $9.99 shipping (this weekend only - usually $60+)
- $8.00 coupon (coupon code: MAUI)
--------
$1482.98
BUT microsoft is offering 5% cashback from this merchant too. So use microsoft cashback for approximately $74 cashback for a final cost of $1408.98. That beats provantage by over $100. -
I will have a party after I have my credit card bills paid. -
It is too late to cancel my provantage order when I saw the pcsuperstore price tag. -
1. The advertized battery life of the X200s with 6cell in Vista is 8.2 hours. We were lead to believe that this year, real-life battery life can even exceed the advertized one (as been reported with the X200), so I'm pretty surprised at the "mere" 5:42 hours...
2. If the X200s with a 6cell gets "only" 5:42 hours, then the 4cell version which is advertized to have exactly half the battery life of the 6cell, should get less than 3 hours, which isn't any better than what the X200 with the 4 cell gets.
All this leads me to two possible conclusions:
A. Maybe you can get ~8 hours under Vista, and you simply haven't found the correct configuration state to achieve this ? (maybe 50% brightness ?).
Or else:
B. As I originally thought, it seems that logic prevails, and if you increase battery from 4 cell to 6 cell, you get only 50% more battery life ( simple math), this means that the 4 cell still has 4 hours of battery life in Vista, and theh 6cell advertized specs are simply a brainless lie.
(Jackboot, if option B is correct, I would advise you to go with the 4 cell). -
xchric, what is the slot on the left side above the USB and wireless radio switch? Express card? PCMCIA?
I have an X200s on order and have a Verizon PCMCIA card for their BroadbandAccess. Verizon Wireless offers the three interface types for the BroadbandAccess service:
Standard Type II card slot
Typically found on most Windows notebooks
ExpressCard®/34 card slot
Found on some newer Windows and Mac notebooks
Universal Serial Bus (USB)
Found on most computers today
I think I've read that the X200s does not have a PCMCIA slot, only ExpressCard and USB. If that's the case, I'm going to have to get a different card or figure out if I can tether my Blackberry Curve 8330 to the laptop for Internet access.
Thanks for posting your photos and first impressions. My machine is scheduled to ship out on 10/21 and I can't wait! -
I actually received my x200s from PC Connection on Friday as well. Really impressed with it.
First thing I did was image the default XP install and then used the Vista recovery discs. Only issue I've noticed with the recovery is that the service partitions are not hidden once it's complete, so there are two extra visible within Vista. Still trying to figure out how to deal with it. -
ddensity,
What battery did you get with the X200s, the 6 cell ?, how many hours are you getting with it ? -
-
I just go ahead and format the whole disk, get rid of the "hidden" and service partitions. Fresh install vista, drivers and applications I need. I just wish I had a Vista installation DVD with SP1 integrated.
The booting, sleep and recover from sleep become much faster after a fresh install. -
Thank you xchric, those are very good pictures.
I would appreciate a picture of the power supply (maybe with something like a dvd in the picture for scale). Thanks!
