I've narrowed it down to the X200s and X200 but my decision between the two is driving me absolutely nuts. The X200, for me, is the perfect machine except with a dim display. I keep debating with myself if the extra battery life, resolution, brightness, and reduced weight is worth the extra $500. The processor speeds should be a non-issue for me. I was thinking of removing the BT and fingerprint reader to reduce the price of the X200s but I'm still unsure... Any opinions or suggestions?

i have a suggestion for you, because numbers are so different from what actually is more convenient:
actually imagine yourself running out of battery life after 6 or however many hours it is and it really being an issue and saying "crap, this really really sucks, if only i had got the other one"
hope thats helpful. i imagine stuff like that constantly. -
IMHO the fingerprint reader is only useful on tablets. Bluetooth is useful only if you plan to use a sync feature with your smartphone, mouse, or headset.

I am in the same boat with the X301 in the equation as well. Here in Europe the X200s comes with the 1280 x 800 screen or the 1440 x 900. I did read somewhere that such high resolution on a 12 inch screen may make letters minute in size? I may in the end go for the X200s with the 1280 X 800 screen since it has a webcam which I need for conferences. The LED 1440 x 900 screen does NOT have a webcam. What I like over the X301 is also the express card slot for back-ups etc easier than external HDDs. I agree with the battery statement above... have been in airplanes on 9+ hour flights without battery ... so the longest battery I do prefer. I wonder if anyone could do screen shots of the X200 and X200s one next to the other to see the difference in screens and how small/big text looks ...

200 nits is not that dim in my experience.
X200s worth extra $500 over X200?
