    Hi,

My X201 has a card slot that I'm not using. Can I insert a SSD drive in there and boot up from there? I heard some laptops can do this to speed up the computer, does the X201 have this ability?

If you can suggest some search terms I can use to research this as well, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

With the X201, you can only replace the primary HDD with a SSD. As an example, you could look at this.

(On the newer X220, an mSATA SSD of moderate size may be installed in the WWAN slot to serve as the boot drive, while the larger HDD or SSD in the primary bay is used for storage.)

Unfortunately the X201 does not support mSATA drives, so you could only use the normal hard drive bay to change the drive to the SSD.
