On my new X201, there is a recovery partition, that takes up about 10GB of space. When I click on the recovery partition, it gives me the option to create a set of recovery DVD's, then deleting the recovery partition. My question is, after creating the recovery DVD's, should I delete this partition or leave it there? If I delete the recovery partition, and then my computer crashes, assuming all the system files get corrupted, will I still be able to use the Thinkvantage button restore the computer to factory state?

Assuming your CDs are still functional, yes you will.

    Thanks.

But I really would like to know if somehow I lost my restore DVDs, and I deleted the recovery partition on the X201, would I still be able to restore the harddrive to the factory state, using the Thinkvantage button.

No. But you could always buy recovery CDs.

    Thanks.

The reason why I am so concerned about the space issue is because I got the 128GB SSD. The recovery partition takes up 10GB, I only have about 80GB free space on the regular partition, 10GB is a sizable amount of hard disk space that I can really use.

If you're ever really up the creek, someone with an X201 and the same version of windows I believe could burn you the discs assuming they still have the partition.
