I got my x201 not too long ago (love it!). Have been using the Ultrabase. Took it off the Ultrabase and today noticed that there seems to be some indented metal (or fabric type shield) on the bottom of the notebook that has had too much pressure placed on it from the front of the Ultrabase? Anyway the indented metal (speaker mesh?) of fabric covered wire at the bottom is is not aligned. Seems pushed in and is for sure not straight. Is this normal or caused by the base. I run my fingers along the edge of the Ultrabase and it appears to be jagged alumnimum. just want to check with other happy x201 owners.

Here are four photos as its hard to explain! Can take more it it will help you to help me. Thanks in advance! I love my x201 but baby it and am wondering about this issue.

Yes it is normal. The old x200 I had used on the x200 ultrabase is having the same problems.

Thanks sir for the quick response. Can you clarify? So the Ultrabase is pinchng whatever is in those x201 slots? Or it isnt and and its normal that the "mesh" is crunched in like that? Thanks again.

I think it's normal after you use the ultrabase for awhile. Before i got my used ultrabase from ebay (looking brand new + keys), the two "mesh" looked fine. Now it does look dented...

It is normal if you use the ultrabase.
