    I have a Thinkpad X201 3249 CTO - Corei5 540, Win 7 HP X64, 4GB RAM, Intel Centrino Wimax 6250.

I live in Chicago area and has a Clear Wimax connection. Thinkpad access connections shows full signal, but the connection drops frequently and then automatically reconnects immediately. This happens all the time when the Wimax radio is on.. No issues with Wi Fi.

I tried updating the drivers, but that didnt fix it.. Any suggestions?
    Thanks very much.

You've got to hold it a different way :)

Is this indoors or outdoors? Do you have the right drivers? Is the frequency of dropped connections related to your location? I suspect that the signal strength is misleading you and it has weaker coverage than you think it does.

    Thanks.

Yeah. I believe Wimax uses higher frequencies than cellular networks, which ends up being bad for indoor reception (since building materials end up absorbing most of the higher frequency transmissions). So, it may be simply a matter of coverage at your location.

Other than that, you can try reinstalling Windows, reinstalling the drivers, search Intel's website for a driver instead of Lenovo's, do a BIOS update, reinstall Access Connections, and that's about it. Also go outside but stay close to your apartment and see if the signal still drops. If it drops outside, then I'd say it's probably not a coverage problem.
