    Has anyone else noticed that the UK pricing of the X201 & X201s has shot up?

    I personally find it quite bemusing that in the USA you can purchase a stock X201 for $1099 and in the UK it is priced at £950.94 :(

    X201s US Pricing $1,349 as against UK Pricing £1,328.81 :(

    Why have the UK prices increased whereas the US prices have remained the same? :confused:

    Thank you.

    Up and till about 7/10 days ago the UK prices were as follows;

    X201S PRICED FROM £1169.56

    X201 PRICED FROM £834.98

    Obviously LENOVO UK wish to increase their profit margins :mad:

    They've done the same thing on the T410 - the price has gone up by almost £300 in the last week - especially if you wanted the next business day warranty - they only let you buy that now with the accidental care. I nearly ordered one this time last weekend and would have spent about £1200 - now it's nearly £1500 for the same spec. I'll probably buy something else now.

    OK. But the question still stands: Why? Why the sudden spurt in cost?

    I thought it might be more that they have no competitors in the business segment (e.g. Dell or HP) who really have any Core i5/i7 systems in stock in the UK yet - so if you want one of these processors now - you have virtually no choice but to buy a Thinkpad. Suppy and Demand - so they can gouge people until competition reappears. I know the pound is continuing to fall too - but no way has it fallen 30% this week (or more). I think the prices will drop within a few weeks of Dell releasing their new Latitudes ... or if the Lenovo sales volumes slip. I won't be buying one now - but I would have at the previous prices.

    I see that the new Core i5/i7 Latitudes' are coming to market now - so I expect Lenovo may start making their pricing in the UK more competitive very soon. I hope so.
