So yeah, long story short, I bought a laptop off craigslist with a password on it.

He showed it to me while in windows so I said it looks good, paid him, shut it down, went home.

I finally today decided to start installing stuff as it's replacing my portable, and it came with a power on password.

Is there anything I can do about this? It's out of warranty so I don't think Lenovo will replace it free.

I've obviously left him an e-mail, but in my experience, after buying from someone on Craigslist, they tend to not reply. I will see if he does, but thought I'd post this incase someone knew a workaround

*Tip: Always check the laptop starting up from power down from now on

Unfortunately we are not going to discuss bypassing security measures on this forum. Personally, I'd suspect this is a stolen laptop.
