Here's an interesting one...I have an intermittent (of course, just to make it extra maddening) problem on my X201 with Intel 6200 wireless. When using the machine, I can sometimes trigger a repetitive noise that I swear is coming from the hard drive area (right side). I can only describe the sound as "rubbery", not the typical metallic clicking of a hard drive...more like "de-de-de-de-de" ad nauseum. The noise can be for a few seconds or, once, it wouldn't stop and completely locked up the machine forcing a shutdown via the power button. It took a few instances, but now I believe the behavior is related to using wifi. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason since I've had it happen while connected and IE open (the lockup), when disconnecting from a network, and while downloading (see below).

I haven't been using the machine very much, but wonder if it could be related to the 400+ MB of updates I did through ThinkVantage not long after receiving the laptop. Unfortunately, I didn't use the wifi prior to that, so have no idea if a driver or other update is the conclusive answer. Lenovo Support suggested rolling back everything and starting over. Any other thoughts or experiences? Many thanks for any ideas and happy to add more info or try suggestions as necessary.
