I just received a X201s and I am loving it. One feature that I'm particularly impressed by is the sleep and charge USB port that allows me to charge a USB device (including an iPhone) while the laptop is in suspend mode.

I've only seen it in netbooks. While it was mentioned in the X200s manual too, I never recall any of the ports being able to do this.

Overall, I think the X201s is a pretty great update to the X200s. I get to use my existing ultrabase and batteries. Everything feels more refined.

I have no problems with the screen. I have a macbook pro and an hp 5102 and I don't think it is any worse. In fact, I think the high-res screen is even better.

I'm in the non-vocal minority though.

The X200 can do this too (it's a BIOS setting). However, I believe the "powered USB" on the newest generation supports MUCH higher voltages and watt throughput (USB is normally 5V, 500mA, 2.5 W).

jon, that's correct! Even the bios setting for it allows a user to specify what type of device they will be using... iphone, blackberry, other

I loved the X200s but the little touches in the X201s are really impressive.

I can imagine the WXGA+ screen is nice and clear.
My question was more regarding the color saturation and viewing angle.
Can you comment on those 2 aspects?
Also, is your laptop a cto order or a topseller model? Does it come with a camera? right now on lenovo.com they do not offer a camera option, which is a deal breaker for me.

I do not believe the WXGA+ display was EVER offered with either the webcam or WWAN for the x200s or x201s.

    Seriously?
Wow that's a big fact that I have ignored for a long time.
    Thanks for clarification.

Did you opt for the 6 or 9 cell battery ?

I went with the 9 cell because I already had an extra 6 cell for my old X200s. The 9 cell for the X201s also has more watts than the previous 9 cell for the X200s.

I'm finding the 6 cell to be fine for almost everything. Battery life doesn't seem as great as it was on the X200s, but everything feels significantly faster. I have 4GB RAM, 2.13GHz processor, and a Intel 160gb X-25 ssd in my X201s. I used to have an 8GB RAM, 1.86GHz processor with the Intel 160gb X-25 ssd in the X200s.

That's doesn't sound new. My x61t can also charge usb devices while it's suspended.
