    Hi all,

    Please could anyone tell me the battery life of the x201i for the 6 cell battery (i.e. flush with the notebook)? There are many threads on the 9 cell and battery life on x201 but not on the x201i.

    Many thanks.

    The x201i is going to have similiar battery life to the x201 with the 6-cell battery. According to the review on this site, the 6-cell on the x201s got 433 mins with the 6-cell. I would imagine the Core i3 in the x201i would be a little more power hungry than that, so I would guess that the 6-cell will get you about 350-400 mins of light internet.

    Perhaps someone with the machine in question could provide some exact numbers.

    mrpeaches is pretty much correct - there will be very little difference in battery life between the Core i5-equipped X201 and the Core i3-equipped X201i. According to Notebookcheck's tests here the i3 in fact uses a tiny bit less power (although I'd say it's within the margin of error) than the i5, which in turn uses a bit less than the i7.

    I actually have been using the X201i for a few weeks now. While I cannot give very accurate results, here are my impressions.

    For light web browsing, text editing, with power saving profiles and low display brightness you will get 6+ hours, maybe even 7. I also used remote desktop connection to work remotely over Wifi and though I didn't use the battery until it was empty, Windows still predicted 6 hours out from it.

    At least for me I can easily use it with display brightness 1 or 2.

    @lenardg: Is that with a 6- or 9-cell battery?

    Can you please explain? I have an x201 and the 6 cell is not flush with the body. I have read that the 4 cell is though.

    Also,

    I want to ask if anyone has any tips for improving battery life on the x201.

    Thanks!

    The six cell is flush with the back, but sticks out bottom, raising the bottom a bit. The best things to raise battery life are to lower the screen brightness and park the CPU in low power mode as most uses don't need more.
