I've been debating this for a while now, and I've heard good things and bad things. So I was just wondering what other owners would have to say about it.

    Other concerns I had were:

    - is it worth the $200+?

    - how is the responsiveness of the touch screen? I'm sure it's probably no where near the iPad's responsiveness, but are scrolling and clicking good?

    - when writing with the pen, does resting your hand on the multitouch screen get in the way? (i.e. your palm clicking something when trying to write)

    - how are the speakers on the X201t? I've heard both that they weren't very good, and above average.

    - anything else you'd like to mention

    Thanks so much!

It's hard to define value for someone you just met. I'd add the touch surface has an extra layer, giving it a more grainy look. You might want to post over on TabletPCReview, where you're more likely to encounter someone with a touch X201t. Personally, I like the frameless display on the standard tablet.

The speakers are OK, but it's a laptop, not a stereo. As always a good pair of headphones will do wonders.

I don't have the x201t, but I have tried tablets before. At first I thought it would be really neat to be able to draw, write, etc. After about a month it gets old. Touch screens also tend to make reading more difficult. I suggest you just go regular non-touch route. I'm more than 90% sure if people tried tablets and be able to choose, they probably go the non-touch route. Who knows, you may turn out to be like ZaZ a naked guy at a computer desk using mutitouch :) .

Definitely multitouch. I returned my X200t without multitouch from the Outlet deal recently for this very reason. It's a PITA to be able to use stylus only for input when you can use your fingers with multitouch. The Tablet itself is a bit clumsy to use in public compared to the iPad. The stylus only input makes it even more clumsy.

if you primarily use a tablet to draw, get the standard display.

if you primarily use a tablet for navigation, get the multitouch display.

i draw with mine and have zero use for multitouch.   i've had multitouch displays before and never used the feature.   but, that's just my use.   everyone's individual needs are different.
