    Hey!

While I know that X220 has no eSATA connector on its own (which is a shame, by the way), I wonder is it possible to use the eSATA connector on the Mini Dock Plus 3 series with an X220? I can't google it out if ports that are not physically on the laptop can be used while on the dock.

I don't want to fret out the cash for Mini Dock 3 Plus if an Ultrabase would be enough for me - but I would really love to have eSATA fast external storage connectivity.

Has any of you tested that yet?

    Thanks!
    Mateusz

I just got my Mini Dock Plus 3 and can try it later if no one else responds. I'm under the assumption that it will work though.

icesample, thank you! that's a great relief!
David, yes, I know - the point is, I need eSATA only at home when I am going to have a dock anyways, so no point in having a "thing" stick out of this slim beauty when in the travel :) But I did consider it as an option in case the dock wouldn't support this.

    Thank you!

:p Oh, she's not angry! ;) By the way, thank you David! In fact I wasn't aware there are controllers with flush ports. It's a great news — especially for possible future USB 3.0 needs.
