I used my computer for a while today, left it on for an hour, and when I got back, my audio wasn't working. I restarted my computer, watched a video for 10 minutes, and again, the audio shut off completely.

Now it simply shows a red x next the speaker icon in the system tray, with the message "no audio output device is installed". I tried installing the latest driver but it gives me an error saying the driver cannot be installed because the audio device is not connected (even though its built into the laptop??).

I have no idea what to do. I tried everything, including a system restore back to 5/8. This issue occurred this afternoon, so that should have fixed it but it didn't. Any ideas?
