    Hello,

I recieved my X220 on Friday with Microsoft Office ordered, but when trying to load Microsoft Office, it was asking me for a product key and I couldn't find it anywhere. I just called Lenovo and they mentioned that I will be receiving a disc with the product key in about a week and I guess this is an issue that has been happening and they are working on getting people their discs with Product Keys.

Has anyone else had this issue?

yep. ordered office and acrobat. nothing included in the box, no media or keys. rep initially said that they wern't included, then when pushed admitted there was an error with 'a small number of orders' bs. lenovo logistics screwed up. it's been 3 weeks since i got my machine. no media, no cd key.

    total crap.

Did you call Lenovo and ask them? Sometimes they're email/fax the keys if you really need them.

I have had the same problem with the x220 and lack of Microsoft Office activation key. The computer arrived on 5.6.2011 and I have been on the phone with the sales staff in India multiple times. The first time they said it was being shipped by mail. Then a week later I was given a FedEx tracking number. Initially this tracking number said that it would be delivered by 5.24.2011 but when this came and went the tracking number just said that "shipment information sent to FedEx". When I called again, was told to call back that they needed 2 days to check on it. I gave them 3 and was told today that they will call me back in 1-2 days. The computer seems to be working well--it is just that I cannot use it for work until I have microsoft office up and running. The bottom line on Lenovo from my standpoing. DO NOT BUY ANY SOFTWARE FROM LENOVO and their customer service is abysmal.

got mine last week. took 30+ days. between throttling, lack of media, backlight bleed, fan whine it feels like lenovo rushed this out the door to compete with apple, dell, etc.

    great idea. so is teleportation.

one step at a time lenovo.

This happened to me. MSOffice & Adobe: nothing in the box with the laptop and no indication that it hadn't been included - is it that they didn't know they didn't ship it!?

After a lot of fussing I finally received the disks last week. Pretty poor quality on that part of the order.

Have to give them some credit though because my cust svc contact forwarded a link to a 30 day free trial which covered me while I waited. Probably not a solution for many corporate users but I'm with a small business and was able to make it work.

I just got off the phone with sales again. I originally got my computer on May 13th. It's now June 16th and still no Microsoft Office Disk or Product Key. They gave me a fed ex number last week, but the number tracks as that the info was sent to fed ex on May 31st, but there is no info since then. When I just called today, they tried to give me that fed ex number again and say that the CD and product key was already sent..It's pretty rediculous. I have the same experience as spooksam with the 2 business days to respond, etc. Pretty awful customer support as previously on two occasions I was told it was a known problem. If it was a known problem why didn't they proactivley contact me and let me know they are working on it. I even asked if she could just put in a new order for the software and send it to me.
I guess we'll see what happens....

That sucks. Sorry to hear it. You can get a product key online at about 1/2 the retail cost of the full packaged product. With the software already preloaded that seems to be the way to go.

All the seller does is sell you the key/license and emails it to you.

I can't say I disagree. Have you tried posting this on the Lenovo Forums or sending a PM to Mark@Lenovo over on the Lenovo Forums? You'll get some access to some Lenovo staff over there. I'm not saying they'll fix it, but it's worth a shot.

Hello! So i just called Lenovo AGAIN! I never heard anything back from them after my call on June 16th. They said they'd get back to me in 2 business days. I just got off the phone and I was told that they would call me tomorrow as they are now awaiting to hear from Microsoft. I do not really believe that this is true. I have asked for a discount off what I paid and some sort of ocmpensatoin as this is utterly rediculous!! It's been like a month and a half and after calling again and again, still nothing. REDICULOUS!!! I just want to continue to update the status here so anyone that is reading this fourm or searching the internet about this issue knows that they are not alone! We will see if they call tomorrow morning! I hope they do!

UNBELIEVERABLE!!!! I NEVER recveived a call back! So I called again today. I now have been on the phone with them for probably an hour. They now tell me that they need to call me back again in two business days i fI want a refund. The senior representative that I am talking to now says I have 2 options and they both require them to call me back in 2 business days or 5 business days. She wants to send a note to her packing team to get a status on the CD and ship it out to me or get a status so she can give me a refund. She's for some reason not able to give me a refund now. She said her sr advisor will call me back. I thought she was the senior advisor, she says she has a sr. advisor, so now I am on hold trying to talk to her supervisor. This is crazy rediculous. Lenovo needs to get thei rcrap together. I asked her why i need to wait 2 business days and what changes in 2 business days and then there is a blank no response on the line and she just repeats the last line she said as if she is just a recording and not listening to me. So frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a disgrace. I've had my computer almost 2 months and call over and over again and can't get my microsoft office key or CD. I hope that somone at lenovo reads these forums so they can know how rediculous this has been. It's so hard to even get a refund!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the hardware of my laptop, but I don't know if I can ever buy or reccommend someone buy something from this company again.

I certainly wouldn't buy the Office 2010 from Lenovo. Yes it is $20 less than most of the large vendors, but you can get a legal download (without disks or documents) for about half price online.

You need the preload which we have. What the vendor sells you is the registation key.
