Anyone else notice their clock (under Windows 7) slowing when on battery or standby? I find that my clock will be off by about 1/2 hour after being on battery power or in standby mode. Was wondering if anyone else had the same issue.
-
I found my clock's time off several times when I first got my X220, but I haven't seen that problem lately. Might have been fixed with one of the Microsoft or Lenovo updates [I am fully updated atm].
-
your clock shouldn't be off by that much when it's no battery mode. i would check to make sure your onboard battery isn't dead (not the laptop battery).
-
i just got my x220 today , and the wei is cpu :3.4 ...... I don;t know what to do..

If you haven't got the battery installed then put it in and try again. Then go into Power Manager and make sure that you are using the maximum performance settings.

Ha, I made a thread about my WEI going down to 3.4. I assume your battery is out when you did the test? Put it back in and magically watch it rise again. -
here's my X220 WEI score:
-
it shouldn't matter what battery profile you use. when you run the WEI benchmark, windows will automatically turn off ally battery savings services.
-
Yea , fixed with the battery in.. but that's weird..
-
That;s right.

Guys,
Your question is answered here:

How can you get 5.9 in graphic?
-
i used the intel hd drivers from lenovo's site.
-
ok thanks . I only have 5.1 and i will try the update.
-
Same score after installed the driver..... Which driver did you install ? Thanks.

look for Intel HD Graphic Driver at the bottom. make sure you have intel chipset drivers installed too. -
when you're running the WEI benchmark, you should just let the laptop sit until the benchmarking tool is done.

Just curious on what your x220 specs are? -
Not weird. The laptop will not run in full performance mode unless the battery is in, this is so it won't overload the AC adapter. While 65w is enough to run any x220 at full force, I think the 90w adapter is required to run full speed from AC only.
-
anyone else has 5.9 in graphics ?
-
Yep, exactly the same WEI scores as sp00n here. 8GB RAM.
-
i5 2520
8gb
intel 320 80gb -
my x220
i7
8gb
samsung 470 series 128gb
wei score for harddisk=7.6 -
Got a 5.9 in Aero Graphics also after following sp00n's instructions with the Lenovo driver.
I'm honestly not sure if it really makes any difference guys. -
if you were using the default win7 graphics drivers, then it's going to make a difference. the default graphic drivers aren't optimized for your intel hd gpu.
-
I still got 5.1 and 6.2 .... Should i just recovery to factory image and start over again ?
-
I have 4 GB and get 4.7 WEI, before and after installing the drivers listed above. I got 4.7 when I first got my X220 with the factory install, so no difference here.
-
that's why i didn't know how can some people get 5.9
-
how did you install win7? clean install or factory restore?
if you did a clean install, did you make sure to install the intel chipset drivers from the lenovo support site as well? -
you said you have 8gb of ram so i assume you upgraded it yourself. did you make sure to get ddr1333 and not something slower?
-
yea. Samsung ddr3 1333(pc3-10600) cl9 2x4GB =8GB
-
do you guys update the drivers from lenovo thinkvantage ?
-
i don't use thinkvantage update. i download all the drivers manually, but that shouldnt make a difference as long as thinkvantage is pulling the same version as the support page.
-
Yeah, all of mine are updated with Thinkvantage. Hence why I really don't think we have much to worry about in the way of drivers.
-
which intel hd did you install ? 32 bit or 64 bit?
-
that depends on the OS you have. 64 if you have a 64 bit OS and 32 bit if you have a 32 bit OS.
-
yea, but 64bit can use 32 bit also.
-
you're probably thinking about 32 bit programs. 64 bit OS can run 32 bit programs.
if you have a 64 bit OS, then use 64 bit drivers. -

They have more ram and an ssd, usually i7 also... these all increase that score.
I have a 4.8 up from 4.7 after upgrading the graphics drivers on Intel.com. But I only have 2520, 320 7200, 4gb ram. I'm sure even upgrading your Ram on a 2520 you'd see the middle aero number rise. -
he has same amount of ram (8gb) and a samsung 470 ssd (comparable to intel 3220).
im thinking the order in which he install the drivers might have affected the score. -
JohnsonDelBrat Notebook Evangelist
Ah, didn't catch that.
I think with the 2520, 4gb, 320 7200... 4.8 is about as high as I'll get. If someone with those specs is higher than 4.8 on graphics I'd like to know how. Not that WEI actually really matters, ha.
