Does anyone else have problems with the built in card reader in their X220s? I can see the 16GB cards (I've tried multiple) in Disk Management under Windows 7, but it doesn't let me recreate a volume, format it, or assign it a disk letter -- I get an error telling me to refresh the Disk Management view, which doesn't help. Using diskpart from the command line says that the disk isn't a dynamic disk, and I can't create a volume on it.

As a result, I can't use any SD cards with the built in reader, even though they work fine on other computers. I'm using the latest Ricoh 5-in-1 driver supplied by Lenovo.

    Any tips/advice?

    Thanks!

What happens if you format the SD card in another device such as a camera? Can you then see it as a removable drive?

That's what I've been doing -- can't do anything with it in my X220. I can see the 16GB card as unallocated space in Disk Management, but I can't modify it at all.

I've been using my 32gb SDHC cards in my x220 with no issues. Both class6 and class10.

I have been having this same issue. I believe its related to the brand of SD card as the internal card reader seems picky. Some SD cards work fine, others don't work at all. My 8GB Class 10 PNY is one of the non working cards. I have to use an adapter to transfer files with that particular card.

Hopefully Lenovo can get this fixed with a driver update. I am surprised this problem isn't very widespread.
