I just found out my X220 Backspace does not respond or register to my keystroke like any other keys. I have to hit really hard to get it to erase something. Does this mean I have to send my laptop back to Lenovo for service?

No, call Lenovo Support and ask for a replacement keyboard. They will send you a new keyboard that you can install yourself (see the Hardware Maintenance Manual).

Thanks MidnightSun. I am wondering would that invalid my 1-year accidental damage warranty.

I just called Thinkpad/Think Center. They will ship out a new keyboard and should arrive in a few days. Very nice!!!

I checked with the rep. He confirmed that it won't effect by warranty.

SR45, if what you said is true. That is totally awesome!!!

It will only void the warranty if improperly installed. :p

    That is true. :)

I think I should be okay with these two clumsy hands. I upgraded my 2GB to 8GB and everything seem to be working fine. So far...
