I just found out my X220 Backspace does not respond or register to my keystroke like any other keys. I have to hit really hard to get it to erase something. Does this mean I have to send my laptop back to Lenovo for service?

No, call Lenovo Support and ask for a replacement keyboard. They will send you a new keyboard that you can install yourself (see the Hardware Maintenance Manual).

Thanks MidnightSun. I am wondering would that invalid my 1-year accidental damage warranty.
-
No it will not jackrabbit. Memory, hard drives and keyboards replacements by the customer will not void the warranty

I just called Thinkpad/Think Center. They will ship out a new keyboard and should arrive in a few days. Very nice!!!
I checked with the rep. He confirmed that it won't effect by warranty.
SR45, if what you said is true. That is totally awesome!!! -
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
It will only void the warranty if improperly installed.

That is true.
I think I should be okay with these two clumsy hands. I upgraded my 2GB to 8GB and everything seem to be working fine. So far...
