If I'm making a bootable USB recovery drive for my new X220, can I also store other files on that flash drive, or will doing so make it unusable as a recovery drive?

    Let me know,
    Thanks.

I just tested on my 16gb thumb drive where I saved the recovery to, and it worked fine adding a new folder and storing some files in it :)

What is your choice of bootable USB recovery system?

I used the Lenovo Rescue and Recovery (or whatever it's called) and did the backup to a 16gb usb 3.0 flash drive. Not sure if that question was directed at me and if I understood it correctly :p

If you create a folder on the root, I don't think Rescue and Recovery will check that or get stuck due to that folder. If it does get stuck, you can just erase the folder in another computer.
I never used the R&R provided by Lenovo, what does it exactly store in the drive?

I couldn't tell you exactly what's on there as this is my first Lenovo laptop..I'm guessing just a factory recovery, 8.22gb big :) Someone else can probably provide a better answer.
