Can anyone tell me a list of processes that comes from Windows7 Premium w/XP mode and processes that comes bundled with the Lenovo Thinkpad softwares?

I'm trying to eliminate unnecessary programs that have been pre-installed from the Thinkpad side. Seems like some people are also concern about overall battery run time and slowing down cpu issues.

    Thanks in advance.

It's informative to run Task Manager and add the CPU time column on the Processes tab (which shows the cumulative time used by each process). You can then see what is using the CPU. These are the most CPU-hungry processes on my T420s.

Firefox (currently 29 tabs open) is in a league of its own. The Lenovo software tends to be well down the list. The USB capture plugin is part of WinTV and I don't normally run HWiNFO32.

Well, let me make it a bit more clear...

All the softwares that is part of the Thinkpad package (e.g. Thinkvantage, access connection, ultranav, etc), do ALL processes that are excuted have filename containing *tp*.exe?

As I mention before, I want to figure out what processes are purely from Windows and the ones are from Thinkpad installs.

Some of the Lenovo processes start with TP, but some don't. You can figure out most by right-clicking on a process name and select Open File Location.
