    Hello,

I just brought my SSD (M4 128) and I just want to make sure I am doing everything correctly. Please check my steps

    1. Clone Drive using Windows or Acronis
    2. Make Boot USB
    3. Remove HDD
    4. Install SSD
    5. Boot from USB
    6. Locate and recovery from Image
    7. Restart.

Somewhere I read said that there is going to be problems until use windows repair to optimize it for SSD? Is this correct? There may be alignment problem? what exactly is it and how do I know/fix it?

If you are using Acronis, just make a bootable USB thumbdrive with it. Boot with that thumbdrive, and you will get into a pre-Windows Acronis. Connect the SSD to your laptop using a SATA->USB or SATA->eSATA cable, and then you can clone your HDD to the SSD there. When it is complete, swap drives and you are done.

Acronis can also clone Lenovo's recovery partition, btw.

Make sure that your M4 has firmware 0002. 0001 gave me random pauses, but it's fixed in 0002. But 0001 didn't give me any other problems, so you can update the firmware after cloning.

Hey what options did you selection when you booted with Acronis? Also did you use a Drive Enclosure or just Cable? (Did they supply enough power?) Also did you use automatic or manual partition?
