Hi all, my X220 was bought from the Outlet over Christmas of 2011 and lately I've noticed that it exhibits the IPS screen ghosting issues. Research on this forum has shown that Lenovo is aware of this issue and is fixing those affected screen. Does anyone know if there is a definitive way to find out if my screen is part of the affected batch aside from the rough time frame.

Also, I suspect that my 9-cell battery has bad cells. On the 9-cell of my X200, the battery reading was accurate enough. On this one, however, the battery meter gets down to 6% and starts flashing, yet the time remaining still shows as over an hour in both Power Manager and Windows Battery Meter. A Lenovo CSR remote desktoped into my computer and said that, since the battery shows up as "Good" that he couldn't do anything. I'm fairly certain there is something wrong since this is a consistent issue - battery reset didn't fix it for me either. Below is a screenshot. What do you guys think? Does this sound like a bad cell?

I don't know the specific part numbers ( erik would probably know, though), but the issue was rectified some time during the summer. Since your machine is from the Outlet, however, there's a chance it could still be affected. I'd call Lenovo Support and see what they can do for you.

the date code is more important than the part number.   there was a small number of updated panels with the old FRU.   anything dated past mid-august has been updated.

    these two posts show numbers:

but, like midnightsun said, this is covered under warranty.   call lenovo support and set up a service case, especially given what you're seeing with the battery.

Thought this was a good place to post that I have a september x220 that has been running really well since then with an updated screen, but I just saw ghosting this month for the first time (I'm extremely sensitive to these issues on screens and my usage patterns haven't changed since I got it). Just a heads up.
