I just got a new ThinkPad X230, but it didn't come with a webcam, so I want to install an integrated webcam in it. I found a webcam kit online for the X220 (FRU# 04W1364), but I don't know if it's compatible with the X230 (which has webcam FRU# 04W2668), so do any of you know if the X220 webcam is compatible with the X230? Thanks in advance!

If the FRU is different even if the camera is physically compatible (likely), since Lenovo whitelists their bios the X220 camera likely won't work.
These are the camera's listed for the X230. Not sure why there are three parts listed for the X230 while there's only one of the X220. Call and find out what the differences are.

Really? I thought only the WiFi card was whitelisted. I seem to remember someone successfully installing a Bluetooth module with a different FRU a while back, not entirely sure.

Yeah, I installed a BT module from x200 in my x201 and it "just worked." I think the whitelist only applies to PCI devices, and the camera is connected over USB, so I wouldn't be surprised if it worked.
