    Hi,

I bought an X220 about 2 months ago, including the 9cell battery; loving every aspect of it. But I'm having lots of issues with the battery guage.

The main issue is the low end, the reported % goes down like normal until about 25-26%, then suddenly jumps to 5-6%. This is rediculously annoying, as I use my laptop all day, bought the 9cell for a reason, and the ~2 hours remaining at 25% just disappears. -_-

The laptop still does completely shut off at 0%, and the 5-0% runs down about the same rate as the rest.

I've done multiple battery guage resets, tried using batterybar, but nothing fixes it. The laptop takes about 2 hours to charge to 99%, another 2-3 hours to get the 100% (this is in battery resets too). This is strange because the laptop still thinks it's pushing 30W into the battery, but obviously none is. It's also not just a % issue, at 25%, the remaining battery capacity in Wh also just drops by ~20Wh.

Is there anything I'm not doing?

    Thanks for any help.

I have seen a similar issue on my x220 with 6 cell. The indicator was showing 1.5hr then all of a sudden the low battery warning came on and it was <10%.

I haven't used it enough to know if this happens regularly though.

    I see.

Have you had your x220 long? Think it'd be something that'd fix itself with time?

It sounds to me like you need to call lenovo, and get a new battery.

I am having an identical problem. I just replaced my battery with a new one from Lenovo but I'm still having the same issue. Has anyone figured out how to resolve this issue?
