Sorry to post this quickly without searching the forum - Is the x220 19 cell battery slice compatible with the x201? I was looking at the screenshots on the mobiletechreview site and notices that the dock pins were similar to what we have on the x201.

Any thoughts? If it is, I'm going to start saving now :D

No 100%. Various connectors on bottom. In X220 standart connector from T510, T410 and other current models.

The same thought went through my head for a fleeting moment - I'm fairly certain that with the heavy case redesign on the laptop itself, the similarities end at the dock plug. I doubt that us X201 users will be enjoying the benefits of an extra battery strapped on to our units any time soon.

That was quick! thanks a lot guys... I hope they're still selling the 9-cell battery for the x201 after another 2-3 years...! that's the best we can go with!

instead of making bulky 9 cell battery that sticks from back and bottom Lenovo should make battery that sticks only from back and not from bottom, just like they had it in X200/X201 with 8 cell battery where it covered back of the laptop from one side to the other without sticking from bottom.
Tho heat vent and power plug would have to be placed elsewhere :D

Sorry for little off topic, but I thought this is relevant :D
Would love to see X220 with slice in real life! But unfortunately they dont sell ThinkPads around here in retail stores, online online places.

Lenovo (or a third party manufacturer) would have offered slice batteries as "retrofits" if that had been a viable business case, methinks...
